My Story
The freedom of pattern and paint strokes appeals to Annie and it shows up in many of her artworks. Large canvases are her passion and most of her works involve complex scenes. Annie likes to take her viewers into her painting - to walk there with her. Annie uses oil paints, watercolour, gouache, mixed media and collage techniques in her artworks.
Annie’s artworks exemplify her love of the Australian landscape and bush. She prefers to portray her works by showing the complexity of nature by breaking it into its space and forms. In fact, Annie is stimulated by complexity and the art-journey of problem solving to portray complex scenes.
Her work, on close inspection, shows the myriad of brush strokes and marks she makes – it is an assemblage of shapes and colour – and yet, when one walks back from the artwork, the scene emerges in all its sense. Her artwork is held in private collections in Melbourne, across Australia and overseas.
