My name is Karen Coulson, I enjoy a challenge and change and as I learn new skills and techniques my work becomes more diverse.
My Story
As an artist my aim is to develop a painting that evokes an emotion in the viewer.
My preference is to work with an acrylic mixed media and produce an abstract to semi abstract piece of work, I love the movement and unexpected result that I can achieve with this medium. I take inspiration from the nature and beauty that surrounds me using images of rugged rock landscapes or wild seascapes.
In addition to my acrylic painting I work with resin and mixed media , producing abstract resin paintings , clocks , serving boards and jewellery in ocean themes .
As a member of the Bayview Artists I have exhibited work as part of the group at the Rachinger Gallery – Eastern Hub . I have also participated in numerous exhibitions and art fairs . My work can be found displayed at Artisans of Australia Gallery Shop , The Strand Gallery and Portarlington & Drysdale Community Bank - Bendigo Bank .
